Warrington-based LegalforLandlords is following its successful relocation and rebrand with a move to a bold, upfront tone of voice. Its new campaign aims to present facts and figures as a wake-up call to those sleepwalking through the property rental sector.

The key messages apply to both letting agents and to landlords of all sizes, but particularly to those more recent entrants to the sector, and to the casual or accidental landlord. Talking about the approach, Sim Sekhon, LegalforLandlords’ MD, said, “Sadly, too many people fail to treat the industry with the respect it deserves. They don’t realise that their small part of it needs to be run as a business. We want to highlight the huge risks they face and their obligations. It’s part of our vision of a responsible and professional attitude throughout the whole sector.”

With statistics suggesting that many landlords are woefully underinsured and ill-informed about property legislation, and agents facing court appearances and hefty fines for failing to protect their landlord’s interests, the campaign is timely, but it’s also one that can continually evolve. In a sector that is in a state of constant change, there is always something new and always someone who needs to be better informed.
