Digitalisation of Right to Rent checks delayed

The government has delayed the digitalisation of Right to Rent checks until 30th September 2022.

Currently, Right to Rent checks can be carried out using video calls and tenants can send scanned documents via email or mobile app.

Once the changes kick in, landlords will need to use the Right to Rent Online Checking Service on gov.uk to view the immigration status of existing and prospective tenants.
