Bad Tenants, Rogue Landlords – loving the show, hating the reason

Channel 5 is currently filming Series 4 of Bad Tenants, Rogue Landlords. We think it’s a fantastic show, and that’s why we’re taking part. The head of our legal team, Karen Longworth, will be helping the show’s producers with some of our own stories about the dodgier side of property rental (if you’ve got a tale that deserves a wider audience, call us). When we know the dates that the programmes will be on the air, we’ll let you know.

But, even though we respect the show’s purpose, and congratulate its producers on the three series which have already aired, we kind of wish there was no need for the show. We’d love to see a property rental sector where every landlord made sure their properties were up to scratch and where every tenant respected the landlord’s trust.

Cloud-cuckoo-land? Well, possibly. Our legal team deal with no end of problems, some of which you’ll learn about on TV, but we can hope, can’t we? And we can do more than hope – we can keep working towards the day when the team from Bad Tenants, Rogue Landlords, can’t find enough rogue landlords or nuisance tenants to justify another series.
